Sinequa | Connect to knowledge

June 05, 2008 - MBDA chooses Sinequa CS to improve the sharing and transfer of knowledge among its staff

MBDA, the world leader in missiles and missile systems, has selected the search engine Sinequa CS to improve the sharing and transfer of knowledge among its employees and thus contribute to maintain its leadership. This strategic project includes 10 000 employees from France, the United Kingdom and Italy.

The intranet of MBDA, which consists of a hundred Web sites (Communication Programs, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, Quality, IT,…) is accessible by all employees. The content of these sites represents a volume of approximately 150 000 documents.

Access to information allows the engineering and production centres group (60% engineers and technicians) to continue to innovate and acquire the skills that make MBDA the partner of choice in the field of defence worldwide. The intranet of MBDA is the preferred point of entry to find information on each entity including information on ongoing projects, product sheets, catalogues, internal training…

"The selection criteria of MBDA were: access security management, accompaniment, search engine performance, multilingual support and the existing library of connectors that in the short term will index sources in addition to the intranet," said Jocelyne Hamon, Head of Competence Center WEB, MBDA. "For MBDA, Sinequa CS is more than a search engine, its an aid to research."

"After comparing and testing several products, MBDA has selected the SINEQUA CS solution. The criteria that led to this choice, in addition to the performance and speed of deployment, were the real capacity to integrate into Microsoft environments where MBDA has a strong internal competence," said Jean Ferré, President of Sinequa. "Sinequa is a Gold Certified Partner of Microsoft, which reinforces our strategy as a software company specializing solely on an enterprise search engine capable of offering Microsoft customers a unified search engine particularly well integrated with Microsoft .Net and MOSS technology."
