Sinequa opens officies in London

Sinequa, The fastest growing French Enterprise Search Solution software publisher announces the opening of its subsidiary in London.

In accordance with development plans and following the raising of 4 million Euros from X-Ange and Aurinvest, Sinequa announces today the creation of its first subsidiary, Sinequa Ltd, based in London.

UK and Ireland operations will be conducted by the newly recruited team: Colin Hadden, as Country Manager and Tim Bell as Technical Architect.

« In opening an office in London, we have two major objectives. The first is obviously to raise our profile and grow our market share in the UK market and the second is to better serve our existing UK customers such as TNS, LCF Rothschild, Arkema, Europages.com Bouygues Construction, Expedia.co.uk and Orange UK. We are confident that the foundation of success and growth that we have enjoyed to date, combined with the experience of Colin and Tim, will lead us to further success in the UK. » says Jean Ferré, Sinequa CEO.

Sinequa Wins Two Prizes

Sinequa was awarded two major prizes, illustrating the company’s outstanding dynamism:

  • the first prize of the AFDEL Growth Indicator, which rewards the strongest growth of a French software publisher in all categories,
  • the “Paris Créateurs d’emplois“ medal, which rewards the highest employment growth rate for companies in the Paris Area. This award was presented to Sinequa by Christian Sautter, a former Minister and Deputy Mayor of Paris, in charge of Economic Development and Finance since 2001 and Gonzague de Blignières, the President of Barclays Private Equity France, Co-head of Barclays Private Equity Europe and the former president of the AFIC (French private equity association).

“I am extremely proud and honored to receive these two prizes, which emphasize our growth: with almost forty new customers in 2006, sales figures over 4 million euros and a rise of over 85% in sales over the past 12 months while remaining profitable over the past 4 years, Sinequa almost doubled its workforce over the past six months, recruiting talents from the USA, London and France, and from companies such as Tibco, Veritas, IBM, Teradata, Dell... Around its original core of world-renowned experts in linguistics and search engines, Sinequa has set up a highly competent and motivated team. This is only the beginning of a long story and we shall give credit to Microsoft for sponsoring us through the IDEES program very early in this adventure. We shall also thank our early customers, who were visionaries in that they found us and trusted us to solve their problem. Sinequa will pursue its mission: to transform the dynamics of corporate access to information” - Jean Ferré (CEO)

association française des éditeurs de logiciels www.afdel.fr

The software publishing market is growing fast all over the world. The AFDEL’s raison d’être is to represent software publishers that have R&D activities in France, and to defend their interests.

The aim of the association is to facilitate the development of the French software industry by grouping publishers together.

The mission statement of the AFDEL

  • To promote the software publishing market in France by defending in particular its industrial model in any of its forms (commercial, R&D, intellectual property…), an integral part of the company’s worth.
  • To become the reference contact point in the industry by representing professional software publishers by institutional, economic, research and public opinion actors, and to do so mainly through the suggestion of actions in the law, tax or economic fields, which are likely to favor the profession’s development.
  • To ensure that all publishers are represented, whatever their size, and to guarantee that each category’s preoccupations will be taken into account.

The initiative and works of the AFDEL and its members can also contribute to reach the following goals:

  • To strengthen the economic growth and to boost employment and innovation in the IT sector and mainly for small and medium companies (improvement of the ecosystem).
  • To help accelerating innovation through research and partnerships with universities and research centers.
