January 26, 2009 - Record billing in December 2008 for Sinequa
The French vendor of enterprise search has sustained growth and preserves its profitability through a combination of product innovation and customer signatures
Founded in 2000, Sinequa has refined its strategy and confirms its position as a leading vendor of enterprise search.
Sinequa was nominated alongside Bouygues Construction for their innovative cooperation by the IE-Club at a ceremony held at the MEDEF Thursday January 22 in Paris. The day before, Sinequa received an award for its growth in the French software industry delivered by PricewaterhouseCoopers and AFDEL (French Software Industry Association), for the second consecutive year (1st in 2007 with 82% growth, 3rd in 2008 with 71% growth).
In December 2008 Sinequa recorded sales up 90% from the previous year. This year the company expects a positive EBITDA and is well positioned to continue its strong growth. Sinequa has also received significant financial support from OSEO and the Ile de France region (in line with the recent announcements by the French President).
New customer signatures include prestigious multinationals SFR, Saint Gobain, Sagem Communication, Somfy and Total.
The year 2009 begins on solid ground for Sinequa, with international signatures including CFS, the largest British cooperative bank. Sinequa's partner network is growing and indirect revenue from partners increased by 30%.
In addition to the beta release of the new version of Sinequa CS, 10 new application connectors, including MEGA and SAP, have joined Sinequa's catalog for a total of 50 connectors.
Jean Ferré, President of Sinequa comments, "in consultation with our shareholders whose support enables us to consider major strategic developments for 2009, last fall we carefully analyzed the evolution of the market. This led us to refine our strategy and to adapt our business model. We chose to reinforce the importance of partnerships and to focus more strongly on our role as a software vendor. Research produces new ideas, while industrial innovation accelerates revenue. The market makes Sinequa grow naturally. The economic crisis that we had feared forces companies to innovate, to do more and spend less. It's the time to launch a federated enterprise search engine project that meets these goals for our customers. This explains Sinequa's growth despite the crisis."
