Informing Pharma Research.
The biopharmaceutical group focuses on reproductive health and pregnancy, with more than one-third of the R&D budget devoted to developing innovative treatments in reproductive and maternal health. Another area of focus is gastroenterology and urology. Like many companies in this space, it has expanded through mergers and acquisitions and today has 56 offices worldwide. Today’s innovations are built upon decades of research and development, detailed in reams of discrete documents scattered across multiple systems.
Accessing research information from decades earlier is critical to continued innovation. Unfortunately, this information is spread across millions of documents and multiple systems. In the pharmacy co-development area of this company (where medicines are produced and formulated for use in clinical trials), this was a big problem.
