The Gulf Between Enterprise Search, IT and Business in the Digital Workplace

The Great Resignation Isn’t Over and Enterprise Search Plays a Bigger Role Than You Think
Although the Great Resignation began in early 2021, it hasn’t stopped. Millions of employees continue to leave their jobs each month, citing many reasons for their departure. One of the most fixable reasons is a lack of effective tools to do their best work. When employees can’t perform efficiently, frustration grows, productivity drops, and ultimately they walk away, taking valuable institutional knowledge with them.
IT teams have the power to change this.
One of the most overlooked areas impacting employee satisfaction is enterprise search.
When employees can quickly find the information they need, they perform better, feel more supported, and are more likely to stay. But in many organizations, information remains scattered, hard to access, or buried in silos leading to daily frustration and contributing to costly turnover.
To better understand the problem, Sinequa partnered with CMSWire in summer 2022 to conduct two large-scale surveys: one targeting high-value business users and another targeting IT professionals. Both surveys focused on enterprises with 10,000+ employees.
The results revealed a striking disconnect between IT teams and business users, particularly in how they view the importance, performance, and future of enterprise search.
Discover why the gap exists and what it means for improving the employee experience.
